When I was younger I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. Even in high school, I had things I was interested in, but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to invest in studying for four years. I became more interested in fashion when I turned 16. My Mom and I would always shop at our favorite clothing boutique, South Moon Under. When I was 16 I saw a post that they were opening up a new South Moon Under location in the King of Prussia Mall and I was so excited to work there- I figured it would be an amazing first job because I already loved the store. Fast forward 2 years and I met my favorite manager Nicole. She was the one who told me about Fashion Merchandising, before that I didn’t even know it was a major. Not only that, she told me about Virginia Commonwealth University which I am not graduating from 4 years later.

During my time at VCU, I took a branding class and this was the first fashion class I was truly interested in. I loved the idea of helping companies re-discover themselves and reconnect with their values. This same year, I got a job as a Creative Assistant for a small business marketer, Megan Wilson. Megan introduced me to different aspects such as social media and influencer marketing and management, and PR aspects that I didn’t learn in class. Between Megan and the branding class I took, I became very interested in all of these topics. I’ve been working with Megan for a little over 2 years now and she has shown me how great it is to make connections with these businesses, re-discover themselves, and help them grow. Moral of the story is, I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, I just have a clearer idea of the topics I am interested in and am ready to take on anything thrown my way.

“She’s a real gem, with a can-do attitude and heart of gold- just the was we like to work!”
